The aim of Bike Units - Kids - Run the research is to explore the science-popularizing activity of the Academy of Sciences in the UkrSSR in 1961-1965 according to the documents from the Archives of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine.Studies of historiography signify that the given issue has not been properly covered within scientific literature yet.The methodology.Historical-descriptive and historical-chronological methods have been used.It became possible to expose the state of science-popularizing activities of the Academy of Sciences in the UkrSSR during 1961-1965 period with the help of these methods and to characterise its forms, directions, and achievements.

The scientific novelty of the research presupposes implementation of a considerable volume of documents from the Archives of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine into scientific circulation.These documents provide information on the science-popularizing activities of the Academy of Sciences of the UkrSSR during the mentioned time frame.Conclusions.In 1961-1965 the Academy was one of the largest scientific centres in Ukraine, in which science-popularizing work was being fulfilled alonge with other priority areas.Such a tendency was due to the long-standing experience and groundwork of its scientists.

Within this time frame, the Academy saw the improvement of the structure involving services, which carried out the popularization of science.Other tendencies include the growth of the professional level among supervisors, an increase of cooperation with other scientific and departmental organizations as well as the strengthening of connections Duster with the wide circles of various communities.The most widespread types of science-popularizing work in the Academy of Sciences of the UkrSSR were, among others: lectures and reports, organization of exhibitions dedicated to scientific achievements, excursions within academic establishments, participation in the mass media (radio shows, television, and interviews in popular science periodicals), professional consultations to various scientific, educational, cultural, and industrial institutions.
